Tallinn–Tartu–Riga direct line
The most comfortable way to travel between Estonia and Latvia!

From 12 January, a direct Tallinn–Tartu–Riga line makes it easy and comfortable to travel to Riga and back.
The train departs daily from Tallinn at 14:50, from Tartu at 17:05, and arrives in Riga at 20:46.
From Riga, the train departs daily at 7:30, arriving in Tartu at 11:01 and in Tallinn at 13:15.
ATTENTION!
International tickets for the Tallinn–Tartu–Riga route (when the departure and destination stops are in different countries) can be purchased in advance on the Elron website (at a lower price) or on board from the customer service staff.
Tickets for domestic travel within Latvia (on the Valmiera–Riga section) can be purchased on board from the customer service staff.

Stops in Estonia: Balti jaam (Balti station), Kitseküla, Ülemiste, Tapa, Tamsalu, Jõgeva, Tartu, Aardla, Ropka, Nõo, Tõravere, Peedu, Elva, Palupera, Puka, Mägiste, Keeni, Sangaste, Valga.
Stops in Latvia: Valmiera, Cēsis, Sigulda, Zemitāni, Riga.
Tickets
- International tickets for the direct Tallinn – Tartu – Riga route can be purchased from the Elron ticket sales system and from the customer service staff on board the train.
- Buying tickets online is the most affordable option. International tickets have a fixed price and no additional discounts apply.
- Advance ticket sales online are available up to 14 days in advance.

Trains
The Tallinn–Tartu–Riga line is operated with a Stadler FLIRT train.
The train features:
- Free WiFi, computer desks with power outlets
- 2 wheelchair spaces, with the option to park a stroller
- Restroom (including a baby changing table), accessible for passengers with reduced mobility
- Automatic climate control system
