From 26 July 2021, the conditions for traveling on Elron trains with a bicycle will change. In the summer season, you will have to buy a bicycle ticket for your bike.
The bicycle ticket is valid seasonally from April to the end of October on all trains. The ticket price depends on the length of the trip and is 50% of the price of the corresponding full ticket (rounded to the nearest 10 cents), but the minimum is 1 euro. The ticket can be purchased on homepage or on the train from the onboard staff. Ticket from the homepage guarantees the place on the train.
If a passenger has the right to ride for free paid by the local government (e.g., Tallinn residents), then this ride does not extend to the bike, and a ticket must be purchased for the bike.
Passengers who have the right to travel free of charge do not have to buy a bicycle ticket:
The bicycle ticket does not apply:

A family ticket allows a family of up to five people to sit together in a designated family area on longer train journeys. The family ticket includes tickets for 1–2 adults and 1–4 children (up to and including 19 years of age) and a reserved five-seat section on the train.
Family tickets can be purchased for direct journeys from the starting station to the final station on the following routes:
Family areas are available in all Elron diesel trains (not in electric trains), as they are designed to make longer journeys more comfortable for families.
Each diesel train has two family areas, and it is not possible to choose a specific area (1st or 2nd family area) when purchasing the ticket. If both family areas are reserved, the choice is determined by the order in which passengers board the train. The family area is clearly marked on the train, and customer service staff can assist with finding the seats if needed.
The price of the family ticket is 2.5 times the full ticket price for the journey. Family tickets can only be purchased through the Elron website, as the number of family areas is limited and they must be reserved in advance for the journey.
