Elron.ee accessibility statement
Below we describe the conformance of the Elron website with accessibility requirements.
The website https://elron.ee belongs to AS Eesti Liinirongid (Elron). The accessibility requirements are established under § 32 of the Public Information Act and derive from the European Union digital accessibility standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1.
At the end of the statement are the contact details to which you can turn with suggestions or if problems arise with the accessibility of the website.
Conformance status
The Elron website partially conforms to the accessibility requirements. Listed below are the content sections, functions and documents that are not yet fully accessible. For each shortcoming, the accessibility requirement that is non-conformant with the EN 301 549 standard is named.
Content and functions that are not accessible
Website and technical solutions
Some icons or images (for example, the logos in the website's header and footer) lack a text description readable by a screen reader (requirement 9.1.1.1 Non-text content).
The contrast of some text and background does not meet the minimum requirements in the default design (e.g. the labels of the journey search form), but the requirement is ensured through the dedicated accessibility tool located in the website's header, which allows the user to switch to a high-contrast (black-on-yellow) view (requirement 9.1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum)).
The purpose of links is not always understandable from the link itself or from its surrounding text, for example on the header's search icon link (requirement 9.2.4.4 Link Purpose).
Some elements lack an accessible name or have code conflicts, including the buttons of the expandable blocks (accordions) on the ticket information sheet and the frame of the integrated customer support chat window (requirement 9.4.1.2 Name, Role, Value).
Documents
Informative images in downloadable documents lack a text description (requirement 10.1.1.1 Non-text content).
The structure of headings and content is at times incorrect, and the screen reader does not always move through the text in a logical order (requirement 10.1.3.1 Info and Relationships, and requirement 10.2.4.3 Focus Order).
Documents contain images that depict text, and the contrast of content and background at times does not meet the minimum requirements (requirement 10.1.4.3 Contrast and requirement 10.1.4.5 Images of Text).
The content of documents does not adapt to screen size and does not support correct content reflow (requirement 10.1.4.10 Reflow).
Sometimes the main language of a document is not defined or is incorrect, which prevents the screen reader from choosing the correct pronunciation (requirement 10.3.1.1 Language of Page).
Features that support accessibility
Keyboard navigation: The website can be navigated with the keyboard's TAB key, where the active element is marked by a visual frame. A selection can be activated with the ENTER key.
Enlarging content: The text and contrast of the page can be changed via the separate accessibility button in the header. In addition, browser content can be enlarged by holding down the CTRL key (CMD on macOS) and pressing the "+" or "-" keys.
Screen reader support: The basic structure of the website is built so that the most common screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) can convey the content in as logical an order as possible.
